An Attitude of Gratitude

The Graveses’ gifts ensure the legacy of Carrie Moss (center) will continue to live on for generations to come.
For many years Jerry Graves '71 and his wife, Carol, have supported the Gonzaga Scholarship Fund by making gifts in memory of Carrie Moss, a dear family friend who enriched their lives. In addition to their annual contributions to the scholarship, Jerry and Carol have named Gonzaga as a beneficiary of a paid-up life insurance policy to ensure that Carrie will continue to enrich the lives of those in need for years to come.
In his own words, Jerry expresses his gratitude for Gonzaga and his friend Carrie:
"Carrie Moss was the first person who ever told me, 'Talent is everywhere. Opportunity is not.’
"The in-home raiser of our three children and my wife and I, Carrie brought us gifts of Peace, Joy and Reassurance. She taught us to do our best always and was a proud attendee at our children's Baptisms, First Communions and Confirmations. To grace our family with her presence, she travelled from her home in Upper Marlboro to ours, first in Kensington and then Rockville.
"In 1996, Carrie was called to her home in Heaven, yet her spirit remains forever in our home. The Carrie Moss Fund is our humble attempt to honor Carrie by helping provide the unmatched opportunity Gonzaga presents to those young men with talent who lack the necessary financial resources."
There are many ways you, like Jerry and Carol, can support Gonzaga while honoring a loved one. Contact Daniel P. Costello ’72 at dcostell@gonzaga.org or 202-336-7174 (office) to learn more.
